  1. I agree with the problem. I disagree with the solution. The answer isn’t getting IT to work smarter by coding new front-ends. What we need is for better tools in the hands of business users. Does IT come to my desk to create a spreadsheet for me each time I need one? Likewise I should not expect them to come to my desk when I need an app. Look at cloud platform as a service solutions, such as the Salesforce.com Platform. Companies that are early adopters will enjoy a strategic advantage over those that wait. We don’t need another spreadsheet. We need apps to run our business.
